Raixa Gardens - Bunyola (Mallorca)

An interesting visit in the region of Serra de Tramuntana in the Western region of the Mallorca  is Raixa Gardens, an estate (is called "posesio") dating from the XVIII century and gardens from XIX century, with an Italian revision later on.

The region by itself deserves as many days as you can, and now it has been declared by UNESCO World Heritage site in the category of cultural landscape for landscape, cultural, historic and ethnological values.
The images are from the entrance gardens and lower gardens on a day with stormy weather.

This place looks like it is from a movie with old world charm.

Your photos are so beautiful and clear that it looks like a movie set.
Hi Lula: Looks like a fascinating destination! Is the climate hot and dry? I'd take that over the humidity we're experiencing here lately. And your photos, as always, are fantastic. Thanks for taking us on the tour.

Donna, you just guessed it! The estate was set to a famous movie in Spain "Bearn" you can check it here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085220/combined. It ermines me of "Il Gatopardo" (Visconti) Thanks, Lula

Liz, Indeed it is hot! but not dry at all, can be really humid, but the vegetation is completely Mediterranean, vines, pine trees, orange trees, all climbers, jasmines, many. I will be posting all I find. Thanks, Lula
