This post is about another plant that bloomed just before Xmas, and I enoyed very much its delicate splendor.
The Clematis cirrhosa var. balearica offer small bell- like flowers in white creamy or speckled pink. They are growing not in my garden but in open fields, and can cover a whole stone wall as you can see in the images. It is a variety native to the Mediterranean, hence the name. They are hardy species that go dormant during the hot months of the summer summer and relive in very late autumn, blooming around Xmas and continue for some weeks in the in winter. They make exquisite walls and can also make a perfect foraged flora arrangement, but they only last very few days.
The last image shows the transformation of the flowers.
